Paint Technician Accreditation
This two-day assessment is ideal for experienced refinishers who want to gain IMI recognition for the first time. You'll complete practical tasks and knowledge-based assessments designed to demonstrate your ability as a skilled paint technician.

- Preparation of substrates, primers and surfaces
- Application of seam sealers and primers

- Basecoat and clearcoat application
- Blending and polishing techniques
- Spot repairs and minor defect rectification

Senior Paint Technician Accreditation
This two-day assessment is designed for experienced refinishers who want to demonstrate advanced competence in refinishing, colour matching and complex finishes. It provides formal recognition of senior-level skills and leadership-level knowledge within the bodyshop environment.
Who is it for?
- Refinishers with significant industry experience
- Technicians ready to demonstrate advanced-level refinishing skills
- Those who may already hold Technician Accreditation and want to progress
- Technicians taking on greater responsibility in the bodyshop
Assessment areas include:
- All core Technician Accreditation modules
- Application and matching of 3-stage pearlescent finishes
- Advanced blending and clearcoat fading techniques
- Diagnosis and rectification of complex surface defects
- Leadership in repair standards and workshop processes

Senior Paint Technician Re-Accreditation
Senior IMI Accreditation is valid for three years. This one-day Re-Accreditation is designed for technicians whose accreditation has expired and need to renew their recognised status.
The assessment helps refresh your skills, confirm your ongoing competence and ensure your knowledge remains aligned with current refinishing standards and techniques.

- Senior Paint Technicians whose IMI accreditation has expired
- Technicians who want to maintain professional recognition
- Experienced refinishers looking to refresh their practical and technical knowledge

- Refresher on preparation, primers and substrates
